PDX Hardwood Salvage recycles unwanted, troubled, or dead trees in an effort to preserve the ecology. A vast network of contacts is used to locate large trees that have been damaged, blown over, died, or for other reasons need to be removed. We make strong efforts to operate in an environmentally friendly, sustainable fashion.
In back-yards where there is limited access, large beams (cants) are sawn in place then moved to the mill. Often logs can be rolled or carted to a point where they can be loaded on a trailer. Other times cranes or large loaders are able to pick up the entire log.
Once at the milling site, logs are turned into lumber or large slabs and stacked to dry and sell. The available species is always changing.
We are one of very few businesses who offer new “green” lumber.
